MELTDOWN TEXAS

  This all started with us doing a memorial service for Ed Suddath, who was the first person I started playing music with over 40 years ago. When Ed was dying, his wife Nicole and I traveled for weeks taking Ed to several different hospitals throughout Texas in hopes of saving his life. 

  Our bond was solidified during this time and when Ed passed away on September 12, 2014, Nicole bequeathed, to me, a bin full of Ed’s written manuscripts and musical recordings. At that moment, I realized Ed had done far more musically than I had ever imagined. In his memory, Nicole and I put together a band to perform at a memorial show for Ed in Corpus Christi, Texas. 

  This memorial show was the inception of the unique musical experience we now know as the MELTDOWN. We wanted to create a live format for gifted musical artists, some of whom were not otherwise given the opportunity to perform in a festival setting or on stage in front of large groups of people. 

  Today, the MELTDOWN hosts nearly thirty amazing acts who perform each year at several different venues over the 4-day MELTDOWN weekend — This year beginning Thursday, November 9th, 2023.
